Juniper Preps for MWC

Juniper Networks (NYSE: JNPR) today announced its participation at Mobile World Congress 2011, the world's leading mobile telecommunications event.

Juniper, at its pavilion CY06, will highlight the company's high performance mobility strategy to transform the economics and experience of mobile broadband as the smartphone revolution ushers in a new era of mobility. Delivering new products, solutions and partnerships, Juniper's New Mobile Network portfolio, based on all-IP architecture, is designed to help operators profitably navigate the fast-moving demands of the new Mobile Internet. Juniper will showcase its expanding portfolio of mobile networking solutions that address operator requirements in the areas of mobile devices, backhaul, packet core, backbone, and security, providing a pathway to profitable growth.

Juniper spokespeople will discuss the challenges and opportunities that mobile operators face as they evolve both their networks and their business models to address the smartphone revolution. Topics include how to deliver uncompromised user experience for mobile multimedia services while optimizing revenues through service innovation, lowering total cost of ownership and controlling security threats to their own infrastructure and to users' mobile devices.

Mobile Security Demonstration: Juniper will demonstrate Junos(R) Pulse, the company's integrated multi-platform, multi-service network client software and mobile security software that enables new service models for mobile operators, while improving productivity and security for employees on the move.

Mobile Video Optimization Demonstration: Juniper will display Mobile Video Optimization solution, providing intelligent video caching, real-time compression and transcoding through open API partner integration. The technology helps operators reduce their costs, optimize RAN usage, deliver compelling user experience and monetize video services.

CPCNet relies on Juniper gateways to reduce operating expenses

CPCNet Hong Kong Limited, a wholly owned subsidiary of CITIC Telecom International Holdings Limited, will be deploying Juniper Networks SRX Series Service Gateways at the company's MPLS VPN and managed services customers in Asia.

CPCNet is one of the longest-established IP-based service providers catering to multinational and enterprise customers in the Greater China and Asia Pacific. CPCNet is the first service provider in Hong Kong to standardize on Juniper Networks SRX 100, 210 and 220 Service Gateways for customer equipment, reflecting its on-going drive to reduce operating expenses while improving customer services and experiences.

“In recent years we have migrated our entire MPLS and data center infrastructure to Juniper Networks routers and switches so in some ways putting Juniper's SRX Series into customer premises is a logical next step but the decision to do was, of course, driven by business needs and technical considerations,” said CM Shek, Executive Vice President of Engineering, CPCNet.

By consolidating fast, highly-available switching, routing, and security into a single device, Juniper Network's SRX Series Services Gateways for the branch enable CPCNet to economically deliver new services, safe connectivity and a satisfying end user experience. The SRX Series run the same Junos operating system as CPCNet's MPLS and data center infrastructure.
